Description:
My client is an established US renewable energy company specializing in solar power, with projects across the East Coast and Central US. Owing to expansion, they are looking to hire a Senior VP to join their team, focusing on small- and medium- scale projects including thin-film, thermal and PV (photovoltaic).
Responsibilities of the role include:
· Managing a team of salespeople (East Coast and West Coast)
· Assisting members of the sales team in closing large deals
· Developing key relationships with municipalities
· Working within regulatory constraints such as the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standards)
· Developing the business during a key period of growth
Requirements
Skills and qualifications required:
· 15+ years’ experience in the energy industry
· Ideally will have been working in sales in the solar industry in the US for the last 5 years
· Highly experienced manager, adept at managing a number of different teams simultaneously
· Excellent understanding of municipalities and how to work with contacts in government institutions
· Hands-on management style to fit in with the company culture
· Strong knowledge of technical, financing and legal/regulatory issues within solar project construction and grid connection
· Able to live/work in Florida (also, frequent travel across the States will be required in this role so candidate must be flexible to travel)
· NABCEP qualifications a distinct advantage
