Heliocentris closes Strategic Partnership and Distribution Agreement with Acta S.p.A. for its electrolyser technology
Agreement includes various exclusive rights for Heliocentris
Equity participation of TEUR 250 in Acta S.p.A.
Heliocentris, a specialist in autonomous energy supply and energy efficiency solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Acta S.p.A. a leading developer and manufacturer of compact hydrogen generators (electrolysers).
With this partnership, Heliocentris gets access to the highly competitive and revolutionary electrolyser technology of Acta. Their noble metal free, very low cost technology is an important strategic step for Heliocentris in executing its strategy to offer zero emission clean power solutions, with electrolysers allowing the storage of renewable energies such as solar or wind power through hydrogen. So far the high cost of on-site hydrogen production has been a big hurdle for the marketing of zero-emission diesel genset replacement solutions using fuel cells. In this potentially huge market the doors are now open for Heliocentris.
Heliocentris has been testing Acta’s stack technology for over a year now and has just recently finished developing a first system with very promising results. In the short term with the goal of early revenues from this technology investment Heliocentris aims to introduce its Acta based electrolysers into its training and lab market and so leverage its worldwide distribution network here.
In the medium term the plan is to implement this technology in our zero emission solutions for telecom and other stationary power applications. In the telecom sector Heliocentris is already established as one of the main players with innovative energy efficiency solutions enabling mobile operators to reduce their fuel costs by more than 50%. Replacing gensets by zero emission hydrogen fuel cell solutions will be the consecutive next step for Heliocentris.
Under the agreement Heliocentris has committed to buy alkaline solid membrane electrolyser products only from Acta, with a minimum of 500 units in the third year of the partnership. In exchange Heliocentris will have a non exclusive worldwide license to use Acta’s technology in all Heliocentris products, the worldwide exclusive license for certain laboratory and educational and training applications as well as exclusive licenses in Germany and for Middle East Africa for certain stationary clean power applications such as telecom base stations or home power solutions.
Heliocentris has committed to invest 250,000 in the course of an equity increase of Acta. The agreement is conditional on the successful completion of this capital increase in which Acta seeks to raise GBP 1.8 million (plus the investment by Heliocentris) to finance the working capital requirements of the Company’s current commercial expansion.

Heliocentris specialises in autonomous energy supply and energy efficiency solutions with the aim of replacing diesel generators with “zero-emission” products.
