The Energy Council of Canada has announced Thierry Vandal as the Canadian Energy Person of the Year for 2012, recognizing his leadership and him important contribution to Canada’s energy sector.
To quote Greg Schmidt, President of the Energy Council of Canada, “The Canadian Energy Person of the Year Award recognizes Thierry Vandal as an ambassador of Canada’s energy sector, demonstrating a clear vision and commitment to fostering the sustainable use and development of energy for the benefit of all.”
The Canadian Hydropower Association (CHA) wishes to extend its congratulations to Mr. Vandal, who has been at Hydro- Québec for 15 years. In that time he has worked towards building a legacy for future generations, maintaining a renewable energy future for Québec and its export markets. Those accomplishments are a great contribution to the work that the CHA has engaged in since its inception in 1998 and fully reflect the values it was founded on.
Mr. Vandal will be honoured at the 2012 Canadian Energy Person of the Year Gala Dinner in Montreal, on the 10th of October 2012.
