Mr. Peter E Barker (pbarker@thecapitalcorp.com , 310-874-6464) is a Senior Principal with The Capital Corporation heading the firm’s Energy Practice. Peter is a seasoned executive who has served as senior merger & acquisition specialist in a Fortune 20 company to leading, as Chief Executive Officer, a state owned enterprise that has become a global integrated energy company that won Platt’s awards two years in a row for transparency, performance and growth. Peter has completed $40bln in transactions, more than 25 years of experience and worked in major markets such as North America, Latin America, Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. During this time he was responsible for structuring company/project capital of $20 bln in equity, mezzanine debt, & senior debt. He has also served in the US Department of State and the US Marine Corps as an Officer/Pilot. He is passionate about performance, transparency, good governance, corporate responsibility, and the environment.
He is a graduate of the US Naval Post-Graduate School — Naval Aviation Safety Officer program and also was designated at BP plc as an Accident Investigator.
Peter has appeared on CNN, BNN, CNBC, Sky News, Bloomberg TV, BBC Radio, Al Jazeera, Cross Fire and is regularly cited in industry journals and periodicals.
He holds a MBA from the University of Southern California and a BS from New York University-Polytechnic.
Mr.Brian Trauth (btrauth@thecapitalcorp.com , 864-764-0840), Principal with The Capital Corporation, offers both extensive international M&A and operations experience within the energy industry.
Before joining The Capital Corporation, Brian served as a Natural Resources M&A banker in London for Lehman Brothers and Nomura, where he advised strategics and private equity funds on sell-side, buy-side, and financing transactions across entire energy value chain.
Previously, Brian was an operations expert for GE and Accenture providing supply chain solutions to oil & gas, oil field services, and utilities customers.
He maintains a broad, global network of contacts in the oil & gas industry as well as within private equity funds which specialize in energy and energy services. Brian has an MBA from HEC Paris and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
