Biomass 2013: How the Advanced Bioindustry is Reshaping American Energy

On July 31–August 1, 2013, the DOE’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) and Advanced Biofuels USA will co-host the sixth annual biomass conference, Biomass 2013: How the Advanced Bioindustry is Reshaping American Energy, at the Washington, D.C., Convention Center. This year’s important and exciting conference will highlight the successes of the bioenergy industry over the past 20 years, as well as provide a forum to exchange ideas, showcase new technologies, and discuss opportunities for the future. Biomass 2013 promises to be an important conference for all things related to biomass, biofuels, and bioenergy.

Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz will be speaking on the second day of the event. Other keynote speakers include Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Michael Carr, and Bioenergy Technologies Office Acting Director, Valerie Reed. Secretary Moniz is just one among a group of distinguished speakers gathering at this forum to discuss the incredible progress of the biomass industry, as well as the investments and innovations being undertaken to ensure its continued success. Biomass 2013 is open to the public with a small registration fee, but space is limited so participants must register in advance. The deadline to take advantage of the special hotel room rate and the discounted registration fee has been extended to July 22, 2013.
