SunCredit proposal on hold for one year
CPS Energy’s proposal to initiate SunCredit, a price-per-kilowatt hour for rooftop solar installations, is under further review. Input received from solar customers, the solar industry and other stakeholders prompted utility executives to place the proposal on hold until May 31, 2014.
During the next year, utility leaders will work with Solar San Antonio and other stakeholders to modify the program’s design.
Future solar customers will receive net metering until the program design change is determined and made effective.
Excess generation for existing solar systems will continue to receive a rate of 2 cents/kWh.
Current solar rebates remain unaffected.
