Sunovis and Hanwha Q.Cells launch 1 MW PV System

1 MW Sytem built in just ten days
Sunovis plans to partly ofer electricity on site
Q.Flat: High yields, security, easy and low-cost installation

Today, the Sunovis GmbH and Hanwha Q.CELLS have launched a 1 MW industrial rooftop PV installation in Jessen, Saxony-Anhalt. The installation was planned and implemented by the German solar developer Sunovis GmbH and uses the Q.FLAT system for commercial and industrial flat roofs of Hanwha Q.CELLS. The system has been installed in just ten days time on an industrial flat roof in Jessen. With an output capacity of around 1 MWp the installation consisting of around 4,000 Q.PRO-G2 crystalline solar modules will generate enough electricity to power more than 200 homes a year and cut annual CO2 emissions by an estimated 500 tons.

SUNOVIS PLANS TO PARTLY OFFER ELECTRICITY ON SITE
At todays´ official launch of the 1 MW flat roof system, Raphael Huber, CEO of Sunovis GmbH, said: “This flatroof PV system is a prime example for intelligent ways of generating and utilizing clean energy.” While the Q.FLAT system of Hanwha Q.CELLS convinced Sunovis by combining high yields with its fast installation at low costs, Huber also pointed out the good cooperation between the partners: “Hanwha Q.CELLS has been very supportive during all phases of realizing this project.” The PV system developer based in Singen, Germany, plans to sell part of the electricity produced by the installation directly on site. “Local energy utilization is growing more and more important”, said CEO Huber. “Together with the landlord of the industrial building we are currently working out solutions to offer parts of the electricity to local users on site.”

HANWHA Q.CELLS PROOFS CONTINUITY AS RELIABLE PARTNER FOR HIGH QUALITY PV
Hanwha Q.CELLS GmbH, one of the world´s leading photovoltaic companies, provided the innovative Q.FLAT PV system for the installation in Jessen. In addition, the company supported Sunovis regarding planning and statics of the system. Matthias Brenner, Senior Account Manager at Hanwha Q.CELLS said: “The launch of this industrial rooftop installation proofs, that Hanwha Q.CELLS is a reliable partner when it comes to the on-time realization of efficient, high quality PV systems.”

Q.FLAT is a system solution developed for large flat roofs. The great advantage of Q.FLAT: the bi-directional orientation (e.g. east-west) and high ground cover ratio allow for an optimum utilization of roof space. Up to 82 % of the roof space can be efficiently used for power generation – in comparison to only 41 % with a standard one-directional installation. Furthermore, the system enables a faster return on investment due to lower installation costs and minimal installation efforts.

Sunovis is a competent partner when it comes to turn-key photovoltaic power plants in all of Europe. Thanks to an all- in-one conceptual approach and profound know-how Sunovis offers sustainable usage of green energy combined with reliable return on investment. The well trained employees at the company headquarter in Singen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) and a well established network of international partners allow for quick reactions to the dynamic developments in PV industry.
