DPI’s operates across six continents and implements rigorous safety standards, technological innovations and environmental awareness. **Job Description** The primary objective of this position is to support reliable, safe, and efficient production of oil and gas through implementation of digital and automation solutions within Equinor’s onshore business. Responsibilities include providing technical oversight for all aspects of delivering a safe and cost-effective design and installation of instrumentation and automation on new construction, the design of communication infrastructure, support of operations and maintenance activities and delivery of the digital oilfield strategy for Equinor’s global unconventional business. It is critical to have a strategic vision for digitalization, have the ability to lead a team to execute on that vision, and effectively collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups. This position requires a candidate to possess strong collaborative skills and the ability to interface with team members, other groups, and data partners scattered across multiple office and field locations. This position is based in Austin, TX reporting directly to the Automation Team Leader. Task and Responsibilities: • Asist with the technical design and implementation of real-time applications integration, including the development of tools and work processes and defining scope within each project phase. • Provide technical oversight to a team responsible for design, installation, operation, and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automated systems, IoT devices, and interfaces to business solutions. • Assist in defining specifications for data quality coming from the field into centralized databases and the cloud. • Ensure support and training is provided to end users for installed devices and architecture. • Provide technical guidance and requirements for safety and security of designs and installations, including oversight for electrical, instrumentation, and cybersecurity. • Evaluate and recommend equipment for IoT devices, Edge devices, electrical components, instrumentation, and SCADA systems, including involvement in testing and/or installation and operation. • Support implementation of innovative and cost-effective digital solutions to enable further development of an Operations Control Center. • Identify and develop initiatives based on design and operational enhancement opportunities to ensure high levels of regularity and safety. • Perform and provide necessary support for additional special project initiatives and duties as directed by Line Management and business needs. Collaborate with other groups such as Production, Facilities, HSE, Regulatory, Production Accounting, Operations Technology & Excellence, and others to ensure maximum value creation. **Qualifications** • Minimum of seven (7) years of O&G automation/instrumentation experience, working with a producer/operator or service provider required. • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline required • Strong competence with automation systems, electrical components, (SmartPlant) instrumentation, valves, and industrial networking / radio networking • Strong competence with SCADA systems, data extraction, and data transfer to external systems including Merrick. • Strong MS Office skills: Excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook. • Travel to the field to support operations as needed. **Personal Qualities** • Ability to live by our safety and security expectations • Ability to work in a team environment, as a project leader and/or as a member • Strong team focus and leadership skills • Demonstrated problem solving ability • Independent, self-motivated, and results oriented; able to drive a project or task to completion • Demonstrated organizational and coordination abilities across multiple functional disciplines • Strong communications and people skills • Strong collaborator who is willing to work across the entire business to future Equinor’s digitalization strategy. • High ethical and HSE standards • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines **We Offer** Not just a job.
