Job Overview This position will be part of the Global Commercial team that is based in Kampala, Uganda, led by the Chief Commercial Officer and working closely with the Global Commercial Director. SMART ITERATIVE DESIGN: Grounded in this value, you will be part of a team that appreciates the rapid growth of the company and seeks to support this growth by assembling a repository of best practices based on effective solutions that markets have created and help communicate and these as the need arises THINK BIG: Grounded in our mission to bring life-changing solar energy and financial services to millions of people across Africa, you will help design and implement scalable commercial sales strategies, Team building strategies and processes. You will use our unique data sets of sales patterns, sales cycles and Team building styles, initiatives tailored for this large and underserved consumer base in emerging markets. Furthermore, you will contribute significantly to Fenix?s strategic planning process at the national level. The lessons you learned will be applied to new markets as we scale across Africa. Key Responsibilities + Country team support + Support the entrepreneurial country teams in addressing diverse Commercial sales needs as they arise. + Ensure that Commercial teams are adequately supported to execute in different areas of their work, team growth, leadership, motivation, mentorship to mention but a few. + Create a framework by which best practices are realised, collected, communicated and implementation is supported through short-to-medium length exchanges where you work side-by-side with the country teams themselves. + Identify best practises among the country teams and determine a framework of collecting these and certifying them as best practises: + BPs in Team building, Team Motivation, Team support etc + QSA/TDR management training. + Compensations schemes of different teams + Field Agent onboarding processes of different markets + Sales strategies like the Regional coverage plan or village saturation + Team Building Support + Assist Country Teams to build, develop and retain high performing teams of sales agents and managers + Support team engagement, retention, and professional growth of the talent needed to achieve Fenix goals in the Fenix markets by recommending best practices. + Support on-going training, mentorship, and development of individuals; ensuring in particular that the teams excel in sales, sales management and most effective in delivering an effective last mile sales experience. + Support the development of effective and scalable systems and effectively giving ownership to country teams of proven systems. + Innovation + Create a culture of innovation at Fenix and encourage investment in innovative last mile distribution solutions to challenges, opportunities, and scale, including leading the implementation of market penetration strategies + Support country teams with research and innovation using results to make strategic, data-driven changes in improving last mile distribution + Prepare a repository of information involving the best practise and avail them to any new market as the need arises + Support the country teams with periodic consultancies ranging from 1 month to 3 months to address diverse market needs Required Skills & Experience + Leadership & project management experience: we are looking for entrepreneurial candidates who have started or contributed significantly to scaling a company or commercial project. + At least 3 - 5 years experience living or working in Africa + At least 5 years working with Fast Moving Consumer Goods teams. + Experience in building Last-Mile distribution teams. + Comfort and experience with cultivating strong relationships with external stakeholders, whether in a board room or a rural off-grid community + Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (English) + Excellent judgement and ability to work independently with little supervision + Highly motivated by customer happiness and great team culture Highly Desired Skills & Experience + Experience living or working in a rural economy + Experience utilizing analytical techniques to drive data driven decisions + Financial modeling skills + Ability to read, interpret and take relevant and nimble action on a P&L and financial statements To Apply This vacancy is open only to current Fenix International team members.
