POSITION SUMMARY: The National Accounts Collections Specialist collects past due balances on assigned accounts while building lasting relationships with our customer base and internal parties. The National Accounts Collection Specialist is responsible for minimizing the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Over 90 day delinquencies for the Company. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: + Performs collection activities on invoices and recycle hauls for assigned accounts, including but not limited to, contacting customers and providers to address outstanding balances. + Applies advanced skills or knowledge of collection practices to reconcile and research accounts internally and externally before attempting collection activities. + Facilitates resolution of disputed balances via research of all available information and communicates findings to invested parties. + Accurately documents actions taken on customer accounts to maintain solid collection event history. + Provides quality customer service to internal/external customers including, but not limited to, reasonable inquiries on collection status and requests for information. + Prepares follow-up reports reflecting status of credit and collection activity in his/her area of responsibility on a weekly basis. + Performs other job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: + Associates degree with an emphasis on Accounting or Finance. + Experience collecting for high dollar accounts. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: + Supports the strategic sourcing processes (RFx) including, but not limited to, proposals, quotations, and information. + Assists with reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to determine optimal sourcing strategies. Includes researching and analyzing current and historic service level and pricing, and making subcontract sourcing recommendations. + Participates in establishing and fostering contacts with key suppliers. + Recommends direct service and partner assisted service options and capabilities to supply chain analysts and secures specialty waste stream pricing from third party partners as directed. + Compiles information and assists with preparing reports. + Researches and analyzes less complex data related to pre-existing pricing to ensure cost controls are in place and effectively managed. + Researches, collects, maintains and ensures accuracy of market data, rules, and regulations of Municipalities and provides support information across all departments of National Accounts. + Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent. QUALIFICATIONS: + Associates degree in Finance or Accounting. + Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
