PGIM Real Estate is seeking to hire an astute, driven professional like you to fulfill a critical Portfolio Manager, Chief Credit Officer role within our business. The ideal candidate will have a professional background that includes deep client and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated capital raising experience, rigorous analytical capability and a deep connection to the agricultural debt investing space are critical to success in this role.; In addition, the role will require a broad a credit background with experience in complex debt structures, asset management, and portfolio management. Strong leadership skills and excellent presentation skills are crucial.

PGIM Real Estate Agricultural Finance has regional offices located in Fresno, CA, Roseville, CA, Orlando, FL, Jonesboro, AR, Memphis, TN and Lisle, IL. This position will report directly to the Head of Agricultural Finance based in Roseville, CA. Ideally, this position will be located in one of the regional offices however, alternate locations may be considered.

What you can expect:

  • Lead a growing team of Credit and Operations Investment Professionals to oversee capital raising efforts, manage investor and portfolio strategies, establish, and monitor adherence to investor credit criteria, including presentations to senior management and advising originations teams on debt structuring and pricing strategies.
  • Oversee asset management and surveillance on an existing loan portfolio, with support from credit underwriters, analysts, and administrative personnel, including, standard servicing, portfolio monitoring, delinquencies, workouts, and other matters.
  • Work with collaboratively with Senior Management and peers on a wide variety of assignments, including hiring, budgeting, cash flow modeling, risk analysis, agriculture real estate valuations, compliance, and risk management.

Business Development & Client Relations

• Lead and/or participate in fund raising efforts.

• Develop and maintain relationships with consultants, clients, and marketing personnel.

• Direct messaging for client reports/perform client presentations detailing portfolio activity and results.

• Respond to client and consultant requests, inquiries, and issues.

Portfolio Management

• Set investment strategies and guidelines suitable to meet investor objectives.

• Analyze investment results and portfolio performance in relation to portfolio objectives.

• Alter strategies to compensate for unanticipated events or market changes.

• Monitor portfolio, manage exposure limits across entities, crop types and geographies.

Credit & Loan Originations

• Deliver exceptional results to investors

• Assist in identifying and underwriting investment opportunities.

• Develop and maintain relationships with market participants.

Internal Stakeholder Communications

• Lead internal communications within PGIM, cultivating an inclusive stakeholder process.

• Develop and maintain relationships across the firm.

What you will bring:

  • 15+ years of experience across agricultural portfolio management, asset management, credit, originations, or related discipline preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing teams, setting strategies, and growing assets under management.
  • Broad knowledge of agricultural markets and loan product types along with significant experience in areas of financial analysis, asset management, financing and understanding client objectives.
  • Understanding of economics and risk/rewards involved in various types of agricultural financing transactions.
  • High standard of moral and ethical judgment and behavior.
  • Ability to manage complexities.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • The ability to maintain close key relationships with clients, consultants.
  • Ability to lead and inspire team members.
