Summary

Responsibilities


  • With assistance, gather appropriate financial and tax information to complete various federal, state and local tax, excise tax and sales tax returns.

  • Organize, prepare, and file indirect tax returns.

  • Administer other aspects of the indirect tax area such as licensing, G/L reconciliation and rate table maintenance.

  • Coordinate and maintain sales tax exemption certificates, and excise licenses and registrations.

  • Resolve reporting issues by communication with state employees as well as assist CHS divisions and customers/consumers with indirect tax questions.

  • Support governmental audits of indirect taxes. Maintain indirect tax record retention policies and ensure compliance.

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.


Minimum Qualifications (required)


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field

  • Knowledge of Finance, Accounting, and/or Tax Accounting


Additional Qualifications


  • Proficient in MS Office suite

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and quality

  • Organizational and time management skills
