**Purpose**



The Billing Specialist is responsible for timely technical support, reporting and back-up role for the Analyst, Billing. Responsible for performing the day to day system routines and process that supports Billing and Metering activities, by adhering to company policies and procedures. This position requires adherence to security policy, when managing customer accounts that contains private personal information.



**Accountabilities**



• Identifies any account or system discrepancies/issues; emerging problem solving skills to work towards resolution

• Administer day to day operation of cycle billing processing, reviewing, analyzing and editing the data and reports for validation of results

• Working with billing department staff to ensure daily operations remain on track

• Runs FCS daily process ensuring billing and load data is available.

• Maintains accurate records and filing systems related to the utility billing software and maintains confidentiality

• Operate the Billing systems to agreed deadlines and schedules

• Report on Bill production activities and outcomes

• Provide cross department Billing expertise

• Co-ordinate the scheduling of Billing activities with relevant stakeholders

• Performs various controls to validate accuracy of billing statements

• Interacts with Billing/Finance/Field Dispatch and Customers

• Assist Billing with Reporting for Month-End close

• Assist Billing with data requests for Audit requests (PUC & Internal)

• Assist Billing with development of process improvements

• Identify any training issues, work with Billing Supervisor or Customer Care Manager to address issues



**_*Position can be located at any of Liberty's Wet Region facilities._**



**Education and Experience**



• Broad knowledge of billing system and strong technical ability

• College degree or professional program of 3 years or more preferred

• 3 years of practical experience

• Utility experience is preferred.

• Experience in handing large amounts of data, preferably within a utility billing environment.

• Ability to deliver on targets

• Strong attention to detail

• System testing experience

• Quality focused

• Will be required to assume responsibilities or assignments as needed.



**Compensation**



$18.81 - $34.16/hour DOE and location
