The Business Operations Analyst will be engaged in a broad range of business
operation activities in support of project development and construction
activities throughout ENGIE North America\'s (ENA) portfolio of
utility-scale wind, solar and storage assets. This individual will work on
discrete tasks, with minimal need for oversight, in support of managers,
directors and vice presidents within ENA\'s Grid Scale Renewables\' Project
Development, Project Delivery and Commercial Strategy teams. These work
efforts will focus on establishing and maintaining various budget control
processes, accounting forensic and issues resolution, SAP and COUPA
project management controls, and routine CapEx budget reviews and reporting.
The position will also be required to work independently with various
corporate functional support groups (e.g., Accounting, AP, IT,
FP&A and Procurement) to implement ongoing business operation processes
and resolve identified issues. In addition, this position will lead all
efforts surrounding the development and execution of training related to the
business process, systems and tools routinely required to be used by grid
scale
This position can be located in Santa Barbara, CA, Denver, CO or
Houston, TX. The position reports to the Business Operations Manager.
What you\'ll do:
Assist with the formation, establishment and upkeep of SAP WBS
projects/templates and the flow of information from SAP to grid scale
renewables development and construction managers to perform their job
responsibilities.
Analyze and assess actual project CapEx spend to ensure quality and accuracy
of data, independently execute forensic accounting tasks to identify
outliers and work directly with corporate Accounting/AP and Procurement to
rectify errors.
Assist development and construction managers with the establishment of
projects and full life cycle budgets in SAP. Update and modify budgets as
supplemental budgets are approved and contingencies are released.
Routinely produce, assess and distribute monthly project status reports.
Identify and review with managers outliers, and highlight approaching budget
constraints/risks.
Assist with the preparation of CapEx and SG&A budgets and routine cash
forecasting exercises.
Work with development managers, Accounting and Procurements to transition
historic costs and established purchases to full life cycle project budgets
and templates. In relationship to this activity, ensure the accounting and
purchasing history of all Safe Harbor tax credit equipment are accurately
assigned to applicable projects.
Proactively engage and work with various corporate functions to roll-out new
or updated business processes and tools to be used by grid scale renewables.
Facilitate the construction of and maintain the documentation/process flows
that define various process used to operate our businesses.
Support Project Controllers with various budget, schedule and quality
control initiatives focused on enhancing business process
As required, lead training and orientation efforts surrounding the use of
legacy business systems/tools and the roll-out of new enterprise systems.
Also responsible for coordinating these efforts with applicable corporate
functional groups.
Other business operations related tasks as required to support overall
objective of ENA\'s Grid Scale Renewables business unit.
What you bring:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Education, Systems, Science
or Economics preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
Previous project management or renewable energy development experience
preferred.
Detail-oriented individual who will proactively pur ue and investigate the
underlying details surrounding information begin reported in order to
constructive a comprehensive understanding of project related risks/issues.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to diagnosis and
solve problems within limited time frames.
Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships
with both internal and external stakeholder.
Experienced user of SAP and Coupa to export, analyze, filter and present
pertinent information that will guide decision making.
Ability to be trained and be efficient at data capture and analysis exercises
using internal dashboards and various enterprise systems (e.g., Green
IT, SAP, SAC, Coupa, Procore, Microsoft Project).
