As a leader in UA Human Resources, the Director of Labor Relations is an organizational leader who provides strategic oversight and guidance, resolves labor relation concerns, leads the university in negotiations with our 5 bargaining unions, and addresses diverse and complex labor relations matters while serving university leadership and employees UA-wide. The Director addresses labor relations matters that are diverse and complex in scope and where analysis of data and situations require evaluation of many factors and implications with broad impact on the organization.


To thrive in this role, the successful candidate must have demonstrated seven years of progressively responsible experience resolving union grievances, conducting arbitration hearings or equivalent dispute resolution, and employee/labor relations or general human resources experience, or equivalent combination of training and 3 years of direct labor experience.


Minimum Qualifications:


The minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Labor Relations, or other related fields. Candidates must have demonstrated seven years of progressively responsible experience resolving union grievances, conducting arbitration hearings or equivalent dispute resolution, and employee/labor relations or general human resources experience, or equivalent combination of training and 3 years of direct labor experience. Juris Doctorate or Masters degree preferred.


Position Details:


Salary is commensurate with experience.  This is a full-time, 12-month, Senior Administrator, exempt position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
