Electrical Maintenance Technician  -  BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Barberton, OH



  • Electrical Maintenance Technician (EMT) will be assigned to the Maintenance Department and report directly to the Maintenance Planning Supervisor.

  • Works as a member of a team of electronics repair, electrical maintenance technicians, mechanical maintenance techncians, and electrical engineers.

  • Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to assist the Plant Engineering and Facility Engineering departments.

  • Performs troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and modifying of various CNC equipment/machine power, instrumentation, and control systems.

  • Assists electrical engineers with plant-wide electrical infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.

  • Asseses needs for motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, windings, solenoids, switches, and other electrical equipment and components according to provided engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.

  • Performs machine positional accuracy testing using laser measurement equipment. Troubleshoots and corrects machine deficiencies to meet calibration requirements.

  • Possesses knowledge and demonstrates competency applicable to National Electric Codes and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and recommendations.


This is a 2nd shift position. 




Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
