BWXT is People Strong, Innovation Driven - be part of BWXT’s innovation hub. BWXT’s Advanced Technologies (AT) group researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, nuclear rocket propulsion systems, and radioisotope production systems for both internal and external customers.
The BWXT Innovation Campus (BIC) Facilities Engineer is responsible for coordinating facility modification/equipment installation (and associated commodity infrastructure) activities in support of BWXT Advanced Technology Programs, Operations and new projects.

Job Description / Duties:
- Direct/coordinate and execute special projects/assignments at the direction of the Director across Facility and Program/Special Project needs.
- Obtain assistance from the functional organizations to ensure the performance of all efforts necessary to plan and execute activities and deliver services with quality, cost, and schedule targets.
- Prepare written reports, drawings/sketches/lay-outs/3D models and technical documents relative to facility mods/build-out, equipment installation, etc.
- Develop ability to interpret technical specifications, conduct meetings, deal with customer, vendor, and other department representatives, prepare time and cost estimates.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance for a long-term strategic plan for facilities and capital projects.
- Support the director in implementing a strategy to improve facility long-term health and reliability.
- Conduct meetings and briefings on the status of the project, activities, ongoing work and challenges with company, stakeholder, and customer management utilizing appropriate reporting techniques.
- Represent the Facilities Engineering department at meetings.
- Develop ability to interpret technical specifications, conduct meetings, deal with customer, vendor, and other department representatives, prepare time and cost estimates.
- Plan, facilitate, and complete capital projects on schedule and within budget.
- Lead project teams for remodeling and/or building new site work areas as applicable.
- Maintain facility plans/drawings/models.
Job Qualifications / Requirements:
- Must be able to support multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to adjust priority based on the facility needs.
- Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical information in writing and verbally.
- Must have prior experience with Solidworks 3D and/or equivalent capability.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
