Cargill Foodservice Sales Internship

Learn the exciting world of foodservice sales with knowledgeable & inspirational leaders. Candidates will participate in various activities including customer meetings, special projects, Salesforce updates, product/service offerings, preparing proposals, and communication/negotiation practices.   

Your Work

  • Contribute to developing and delivering sales bids, presentations and proposals and participating in product demonstrations. 

  • Work with current customers building relationships to generate future sales and repeat business. 

  • With basic knowledge of products, their characteristics and market, sell and stimulate demand for a series of products. 

  • Plan daily activities, including customer visits and quantitative and qualitative objectives to achieve. 

  • Follow market and competition evolution, passing information to senior staff. 

  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff. 

  • Other duties as assigned 


The compensation for this role will range between $18.80 - $26.00, determined by graduation date.

Internship Details

  • Internships are typically 12 weeks in duration. 

  • Interns are paid hourly for time worked. 

  • Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work. 

  • Interns may have the opportunity to travel during their term, based on business need.  

  • Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered an internship, co-op or full-time position to return the following year.

Job Locations

  • Wayzata, MN

  • The team is based out of Fort Lauderdale/Miami so travel there as well as other locations over the summer may be anticipated, based on business need

Required Qualifications

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer 

  • Currently pursuing Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited program in Business, Economics, Marketing, Agriculture Business, AgEcon, Food/Foodservice Management, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or other related degree 

  • Must be graduating between December 2024 and August 2025

  • Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June - August 2024) 

  • Willing and able to travel, based on business needs 

  • Proven ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures 

  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a scale of 4.0 

  • Prior internship experience preferred 

  • Restaurant, foodservice, hospitality, or related experience preferred  

  • Fluency in a 2nd language
