ABOUT THE ROLE

The GIS Analyst is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, building, and executing GIS datasets, tools, and workflows in the development of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Perform mapping functions and maintain source datasets in the support, planning and development of utility-scale solar and storage projects.
  • Effective, proactive communication with cross-functional teams company-wide to perform mapping and analysis requests, as well as functions under independent and team collaboration scenarios.
  • Robust technical background (GIS and IT concepts and methods) in the creation, acquisition, QA/QC, and management of geospatial inputs, including the analysis and processing of derivative datasets.
  • Provide professional expertise and support to in-house staff and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Meet deadlines with quality output in a fast-paced, growing company while prioritizing, managing, and performing multiple tasks in parallel across the project lifecycle.
  • Automate and streamline routine tasks, as well as identify fitting workflow methodologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Willingness to learn and perform other related cross-functional tasks as assigned, including outside of the role in support of the Development, Engineering and Construction teams.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems, geography, earth science, engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in geographic information systems (GIS) or related industry.
  • Technology:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
    • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS platforms (desktop, mobile, cloud, etc.).
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze complex data and situations to make decisions.
    • High-degree of self-motivation with the ability to effectively solve problems with little direction.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize projects of varying priority levels.
