Job Description:

Job Summary:

The HR Assistant is the front-line support for the HRM office. This position is responsible for walk-ins to the front desk, phone calls, and emails. It also assists with auditing and administrative functions for the HRM office. 

Job Responsibilities:

55% - Communications and relationship management: creates and cultivates relationships with both internal and external customers. Serves as the primary point of contact for HRM to address questions/concerns, reference policies, procedures, and practices to ensure consistent and accurate responses. Baseline troubleshooting of TDX tickets from users. Documents and analyzes trends that may surface from inquiries and subsequently recommends solutions or courses of action. Directs walk-ins and refers to the appropriate area. Answer the LSU main phone and email contact, respond to questions, and direct them to the appropriate area.

35% - Administrative: Completes verifications of employment and Public Student Loan Forgiveness forms. Responsible for completing reporting requirements including but not limited to Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLT), Newly Hired Employee reporting, and Time Type Audit report. Assist HRIS with auditing and Reporting functions as needed. Update PM-11 status in Workday for employees with outside employment. Sort and distribute incoming mail. Respond to records requests and subpoena requirements.  Assist department property custodian with annual inventory.

5% - Student Employment Partner: Performs HR functions for student employees. Responsible for initiating position creation, job requisitions, job changes, and hires of student workers. Completes student onboarding and ensures completion of I-9s, annual training, and confidentiality forms. 

5% - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with 1-2 years of experience with specific experience working in an office environment.
