Job Description


As the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) with VAS/AgSource, you will have a unique opportunity to work with a multi-company team to help in aligning, communicating and delivering business objectives to our employees. You will build partnerships and collaborate with Leadership as well as the People Development (PD) & HR teams to help set the annual strategic people priorities. You will play a key role in developing and delivering on the Company’s position, its mid and long-term plans, its culture, and its competition.


  • Manage and help to resolve complex employee relations issues (effective, thorough, and objective investigations)

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

  • Provide recruitment support for business units which includes partnering with URUS Talent Acquisition on strategic and proactive recruitment efforts

  • Day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)

  • Assist in identifying training needs for business units and individual executive coaching

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR operations service center to develop solutions, programs, and policies

  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation

  • Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers

  • Assists international employees with VISAs and related HR matters

  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related HR function

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelors Degree preferred

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR credential or ability/desire to obtain certification within one year of employment

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines: compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary customer service to employees

  • HR software systems knowledge (ADP, Oracle, etc.)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
