Job Description

AGCO, a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural solutions, has an exciting internship opportunity for a Technical Design Engineer Intern to join our Seeding & Tillage team in Beloit, KS

Summary of Responsibilities:

Work alongside a Technical Design Engineer to design and develop moderately complex product and component concepts for release to production in a manner to ensure superior performance, durability, reliability, quality and serviceability to the worldwide marketplace.  Strong communication with design engineering personnel, equipment operators, farmers and other involved persons throughout the development process.


  • Conceives and provides practical and improved product design applications

  • Emphasis is on conceiving moderately complex product designs and preparing design layouts by using a computer graphics system

  • Accurately makes design calculations, decisions and does the necessary analysis and computer simulations.

  • Works closely with the Test Engineers and technicians, plant personnel and suppliers regarding product design, test and production schedule dates.

  • Provides guidance to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Service and other departments.

  • May travel to dealerships and some customer job sites to solve design problems, and to field test locations to assist with the development of engineering projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a 4-year technical/bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited university with an emphasis in AG, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field/technical experience in testing of AG or off-highway equipment

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale)

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agricultural experience/background

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey test results, root cause analysis, new strategies, processes/approaches to a variety of internal audiences

This position pays between $20.00-$23.00/hour. Returning interns receive an additional $1 for each year they return.
