IT Project Manager


(Hybrid) Denver, Colorado/ Sioux Falls, South Dakota


Position Specific Description


The IT Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects across TAKKION. You will collaborate with cross-functional project teams, including software developers, system administrators, business analysts, finance, and operations stakeholders, to track progress on key deliverables and find potential risks early on to ensure project goals are met within the defined scope, timeline, and budget.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Lead and partner across business and IT areas to manage IT and Business Application initiatives in overseeing planning, execution, budget, delivery health, reporting and analysis.


  • Track progress on all managed initiatives to identify and report issues, risks, schedule, changes, costs, and scope changes and provide up-dates to supervisors, executives and stakeholders as required.


  • Manage project schedules and task details; use project management tools and reports appropriately.


  • Possesses strong Executive presence and the ability to manage and meet expectations of Senior and Executive leadership.


  • Has considerable experience successfully managing projects, people, and / or departments.


  • Ability to execute the PMO management process, deliverables, and operational cadences in strict accordance with PMO management standards and best practices.


  • Function as an escalation point for project resources; including impact assessment of project resources, schedule, and cost issues/changes.


  • Manage and balance project members’ workload and assignments; ensure team members understand and accept their roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities; ensure consistency of project execution to standards and achievement of project objectives.


  • Support but also hold each Business & Technology Leader responsible for their commitments to program or project deliverables.


  • Support the organization in the adoption of a PMO process. Facilitate and develop a PMO and approvals for new projects to determine priority and alignment to strategic objectives.


  • Evaluate organizational capability and capacity to assist in the development, validation, and assessment of project goals, priority, feasibility, readiness, and alignment to corporate strategies.


  • for monitoring and reporting on the projects and programs across the supported portfolio supplying guidance where needed to champion value delivery.


  • Facilitate Key Performance Indicators (KPI)/metrics, standards, reporting mechanisms and decision-making forums.


  • Seek partner input for continuous improvement of the PMO process.


  • Work in collaboration with the business areas, project management, and other portfolio managers to deliver the agreed-upon results.


  • Serve as a member of the PMO Management Team.


  • Provide PMO portfolio information and consulting to other business area team members to aid with their resource deployment and use, business impact, and overall planning knowledge.


  • Support each level of Management and Executive Leadership to ensure high standards of delivery on their commitments to the managed portfolio of work.




Requirements

Required Qualifications


BA/BS in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Science, or other relevant discipline needed; an advanced degree may be substituted for three years of required experience.


2 – 4 years leading and directing one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations.


PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.


Advanced working knowledge with MS Office (Office 365), Microsoft Dynamics, SharePoint, and Microsoft Visio.


Proven experience in managing information technology projects, preferably in a professional setting.


Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).


Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management tools.


Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
