BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking an IT Support Specialist at its Euclid, OH location!


 


The selected candidate will be responsible for the enterprise’s infrastructure for BWXT with a focus at our Euclid, OH facilities, including working with the Network and Client Services team to extend 1st and 2nd level support to local and remote end users.  Candidates must be self-motivated, demonstrate excellent multitasking skills, and should be comfortable working in a large, high security, manufacturing environment.


 


Job Description/Duties


 



  • Collaborating with IT Infrastructure, Cyber and Application teams to configure and troubleshoot client and network infrastructure

  • Install, relocate and/or upgrade PC hardware, software, peripherals, and other devices to satisfy business and/or end-user requirements

  • Work with the IT Operations management to determine strategic direction for the desktop environment, including the evaluation and testing of new technologies

  • Develop work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and end-user technical documentation relating to the desktop environment

  • Maintain computer cabinets, storage rooms, and PC/Laptop/peripherals/parts inventory

  • Ensure effective communication between desktop support team and the rest of the IT organization, including status reports of projects and/or systems issues

  • Provision, configure, troubleshoot and track company smartphones and broadband devices.

  • Providing day-to-day support of network and application environments including port configuration and cabling

  • Assisting in voice and video management along with Webex and MS Teams support

  • Patching and asset management of all network equipment on multiple networks

  • Monitoring and logging issues and outages for network team across three different networks

  • Maintaining documentation of network closets and cable plant at the Euclid facility


  • Ability to report to work at an assigned office location. This position does not include a remote work option.


 


Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:


 



  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • 1 year of network experience in a professional environment with 3 years of overall IT experience

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI stack and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)


  • Familiarity dealing with multiple sites and end user support/help desk

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential

  • A strong desire to learn and take on new challenges for self-development and to help to contribute to operations at a higher level.

  • Experience working with Cisco gear and Cisco certifications a plus

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
