The**Maintenance Apprentice**is intended to develop and learn maintenance skills to become a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure effective equipment functioning. Once graduating from program, he becomes proficient at performing equipment inspections, identifying defective parts and components, providing preventive maintenance as well as troubleshooting bakery equipment to execute maintenance/mechanical repair:\*The Maintenance Apprentice will focus on completing all required coursework to attain minimum requirements of Maintenance skillsets within a specified amount of time. (Much of the course work is "On-Line")\*They will work with Qualified Maintenance Mechanics to attain OJT and develop practical skills within a specified amount of time.\*The Maintenance Apprentice will work towards milestones set forth by Maintenance Leadership.\*This will be the first step to grow as a Maintenance Mechanic towards higher levels within the progression path.**Top Reasons to Work at Bimbo Bakeries USA**\*Great starting pay: $19.95/hr!\* Excellent benefits package\* Union Position\*Growing organization & increased demand for products**Principle Accountabilities:**\*Support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.\*Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make required repairs (troubleshooting of equipment issues).\*Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment.\*Inspect, operate and test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and validate work performed.\*Ensure safety by following all company policies including safety rules, procedures and Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), personal safety standards, food safety standards as well as OSHA standards.\*Troubleshoot equipment as well as plant electrical/mechanical systems and develop sustainable solutions accordingly.\*Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted.
