Summary:
Performs electrical and mechanical up-keep and repairs facilities, buildings and equipment. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and makes necessary repairs. Designs and implements systems as required. Must be able to operate mill, lathe, and forklift, and to perform welding. Assists in and helps manage all recycling and waste water treatment equipment. Works closely with facilities group in all aspects of the job. Assists in setting up and maintaining an ongoing preventive maintenance program for the facility. Maintains an organized, safe and clean work area.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
· Carries tools and equipment to and from storage and working areas.
· Assist dismantling and moving machines or equipment.
· Clean machines to prepare surfaces for repair.
· Oil and grease various machinery to include maintaining and checking oil levels in forklifts.
· Clean work areas, tools and equipment to include general grounds maintenance (i.e. mowing lawns, changing light bulbs, replace air hoses for air tools, disposing broken pallets, metal shavings removal, emptying trash cans, etc.)
· Operate automatic sweeper to clean factory floor.
· Operate oil vacuum to remove used lubrication oils from machines.
· Replacing empty propane tanks on forklifts with full propane tanks.
· Removing scrap metal from facility and disposing metal in the proper containment areas.
· Using a forklift, empty metal cutting machine shavings bins for the entire shop.
· May operate sandblast booth, bead sandblaster and grinders to finish raw materials and finished products.
· Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere to the Company’s ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
· May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills/Knowledge
· Must be able to read and interpret written and oral instructions to perform assigned duties and provide accurate paperwork and work orders.
· Must be able to work under pressure and within time constraints.
· Basic computer skills preferred. Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds.
· Must have ability to push/pull up to 120 pounds of force.
Experience
· 3+ years of previous experience in maintaining plant equipment.
· Experience performing mechanical repairs for different varieties of machines.
· Trade school training or equivalent work experience with a stable work history required.
