Scope of Position






Overall responsibility for delivery of an Offshore Wind Project as part of a world-class portfolio leading the energy transition and realizing climate goals for the US and New Jersey. As part of the Management Team of Atlantic Shores, it represents Atlantic Shores in working with its shareholders and external partners.  The Project Director’s duties and responsibilities are performed and achieved both through direct action as well as through effective and thorough leadership of the Project team.    









Responsibilities






Overall responsibility for delivery of an Offshore Wind Project ( “Atlantic Shores Project 2”) according to the business plan and delivery strategy and in compliance with regulatory, commercial, legal, and environmental requirements and commitments. Responsible, with the Management Team and CEO, for the day-to-day management of the JV and integration of the Project with the Atlantic Shores portfolio.

Senior Leadership:

  • As part of the Management Team of Atlantic Shores, work with fellow MT members, the CEO, and the Board of Directors in refining the strategic vision and delivery plan for Atlantic Shores Project.
  • Participate and interact in strategic meetings, presenting and discussing with the business any relevant Project related topics.
  • Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization's mission and help execute staff succession and growth plans.

 

Team Management:

  • Leads the Project Team; fosters an effective, objective-driven, safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
  • Work with the Management Team and shareholders to complete the resourcing and organizational structure of the Project Team.
  • Manages the coordination with the Project Package Managers and leads daily.

Project Business Case and Delivery:

  • Modelling HSSE culture, implementation, and adherence to HSSE policies during all phases of the Project; ensuring that safety is a key criterion for project and component design; technology selection, vendor selection, and process planning.
  • Utilize Risk Management as a central tool to enable Project delivery and performance.
  • Support Project Package Managers in contracting for key packages (preparation, negotiation, execution, contract management) to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Support Port Lead and Project Package Managers in tracking of progress on the development and construction of key port and fabrication facilities to deliver on local content commitments.
  • Support Project Package Managers and Lead Engineers in leading the Project engineering and design in the Define Phase (FEED, detailed design, verification, development of Facilities Facility Design Report and Fabrication and Installation Report (FDR & FIR) in conformance with 30 CFR §585.706(a).
  • Support the Project Verification Lead in ensuring project verification by the Certified Verification Agent (CVA) and approval of design (FDR and FIR) before start of fabrication and fabrication, installation, and commissioning before COD.
  • Enable the Project team to successfully deliver the Project packages, manage interfaces between packages, and ensure overall Project success (schedule, quality, HSSE, delivery, budget).
  • With support from the Atlantic Shores Permitting Team, acquire all necessary local permits for all Project activities.
  • Support the Project Compliance Manager in Regulatory Compliance (of permits) and Reporting; Environmental & Scientific Surveys and Assessments during the Project delivery phase.
  • Ensure timely development of comprehensive Project Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Plans.
  • Work closely with Project Services Manager to implement Project Controls: Tracking progress against baseline Project schedules and budgets; Project reporting to MT and shareholders.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to Project Management of Change policies and tracking of variations.
  • Work closely with the Atlantic Shores Information Management Team to ensure creation, release, revision control, security, access, storage and retention for all Project documents, data, records for the life of the project.
  • Coordinate with the Atlantic Shores’ Interconnection Team to track and support the timely completion of upgrade scopes with utility/ TSO.
  • Ensure Project Operations Readiness to enable successful handover to the Operations phase.
  • Ensure completion of all Project pre-COD O&M as part of successful handover to the Operations Director.

Supervision of Others:

Up to 50FTE direct and indirect reports









Qualifications






  • PMP Certification strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of project engineering/project management experience and/or contract management and/or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience within the wind and/or offshore industry-leading high-profile projects
  • Experience as an Officer of the Company, holding a position of authority, command and trust in a like-sized environment
  • Experience in an organization with multiple global locations with a detailed understanding of international accounting principles

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple primes and subcontractor relationships simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365; MS Project application, Visio, MS Access, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a multicultural context and a fast-paced JV environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of organizational skills.
  • Deep experience with budgets, scheduling, and risk management.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel to other offices and to Project sites as needed.

Working Conditions:

85% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. Approximately 15% of the time is spent in travel. At the start of fabrication, time on site overseeing work as needed or meeting with contractors.

 

This role’s annual base salary range is between $210,300 to $350,500.
