Position Overview:

The Seasonal Sales Associate is responsible for approaching and greeting every customer. Sales Associates will engage the public and offer products and provide outstanding customer service to maximize sales and increase customer loyalty. They report to the Seasonal Store Manager at their store location.


  • Primarily responsible for engaging with and selling to customers  
  • Must have extensive product knowledge
  • The ideal candidate is motivated, enjoys working one-on-one with customers, and thrives in an independent work environment
  • Demonstrates professionalism and a high level of service so that customers leave with a positive image of Hickory Farms and our products
  • Achieves personal sales goals while supporting the goals of the team
  • Maintains and restocks products as directed, to ensure location appearance is attractive and well merchandised
  • Must adhere to all cash handling and loss prevention policies and procedures
  • Always demonstrates a high degree of energy and enthusiasm in a professional manner while on duty 
  • Resolves customer complaints in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Must wear the apron provided by the company and comply with dress code standards outlined in the Seasonal Employee Handbook
  • Demonstrates a high degree of safety awareness while performing job duties and adheres to all company safety and loss prevention programs
  • Reports all injuries with customers or sales associates to the Seasonal Store Manager immediately
  • Notifies the Seasonal Store Manager of any safety hazards and works with him/her to correct the hazards
  • Transacts in the Point of Service (POS) register; Keys sale/return/exchange transactions
  • Dispose of trash in the correct store or mall-designated areas
  • Performs all other tasks and duties assigned by the Seasonal Store Manager to support the needs of the business
  • Completes all company-assigned training assignments, courses, and materials

Educational and/or Work Experience Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years old at the time of hire
  • Previous retail experience is a plus.
  • Local travel to other locations could be asked of you if sales associates are needed at that location.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 

  • Must be able to complete the “essential job functions” with “reasonable accommodations” and meet all the mandatory qualifications under the ADA guidelines. 
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 42 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25-35 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to perform essential physical activities such as lifting, climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
