Job Description

SparkCharge is currently seeking a senior accountant to join our Finance Department. 

The Company:

SparkCharge is a fast-growing cleantech start-up that is reducing barriers to Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption.  We design, manufacture, and sell portable, Level III charging systems for EVs.  We also provide “Charging-as-a-Service” (CaaS) through our mobile app “Currently”, which allows EV owners to schedule charge delivery to wherever their vehicle is located.   • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Guide accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Plan, assign, and review staff's work
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Communicate effectively with clients
  • Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel
  • Communicate with Manager and/or Director on work status and client issues that arise


  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and spreadsheets for Inventory and Fixed Assets management
  • Knowledge of standard accounting and bookkeeping principles and best practices
  • Significant experience with office productivity applications, with a strong aptitude for learning new systems and approaches
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at the same time, whether working independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company financial information
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
