CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pricing Analyst to lead the pricing program for Transportation and Logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the overall pricing strategy and directing the execution of this strategy in terms of pricing, tariff, and fuel surcharge structure, given the different markets that CHS serves and competes in. Market segmentation and developing segmented pricing strategies will be a key part of this role. You will provide guidance and work direction across the enterprise to FP&A, accounting, and sales and marketing teams and working closely with stakeholders to develop a shared-service pricing model that aligns with enterprise objectives. You will be responsible for creating and integrating overall pricing into one strategic pricing program.


  • Lead the pricing program for Transportation and Logistics, a $150MM services business.

  • Provide guidance and direction regarding negotiations and pricing terms for new and existing business.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on transportation markets and rates.

  • Develop metrics and performance scorecards to measure and manage pricing.

  • Develop comprehensive pricing strategy and corresponding business processes. Effectively manage pricing across business unit market segments distinguished by customers, geography, transportation equipment type, and product transported.

  • Cross-functional management of distinct pricing events.

  • Ongoing management of pricing and margin (in partnership with Sales).

  • Pricing and pro-forma management processes for evaluating and pricing new business.

  • Accessorial pricing management.

  • Go-to-market and pricing communication strategy and tactics to ensure consistent approach.

  • Ongoing rate management. Management of rate portfolio and continual consolidation/optimization of rates and tariffs.

  • Pricing management associated with CHS enterprise partners in alignment with company strategy.

  • Process definition and development for the above, including standard price quoting and other pricing-related, customer-facing processes.

  • Development of TMS business requirements and ultimate system design in support of above business processes.

  • Work with IT to develop systems that enable effective management of the above areas and are representative of a best-in-class operation.

  • Create a data-driven culture that is focused on continually improving and optimizing logistics and supply chain performance.

  • Partner with Finance teams to develop and implement performance and profitability measures and reporting in support of business needs.

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards. Correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions in the workplace.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

  • 4+ years of transportation pricing management experience to include:

    • Proven track record of leading pricing programs in support of business strategy and objectives

    • Analytical curiosity to uncover new logistics approaches and concepts to drive results

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Economics, Manufacturing, Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Statistics or related field

  • Proven track record of leading pricing programs in support of business strategy and objectives

  • Analytical curiosity to uncover new logistics approaches and concepts to drive results

  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams toward a common goal

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Previous experience in transportation pricing management

  • Private fleet experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%
