Job Description
DescriptionOur building engineering team assesses the structural,
mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in facilities with an
emphasis on efficiency and quality.We are looking for a Senior
Structural Engineer with experience working on large industrial and
commercial buildings, hospitals, airports or water/wastewater treatment
facilities to join our team! The successful candidate will be a major
contributor in leading design aspects on a wide variety of structural
system options for building projects located throughout the United
States.Responsibilities include:Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate
structural engineering work. Conceptualize the initial structural design
approach for significant projects. Mentor and lead team members while
serving as Structural Engineer of Record.Prepare engineering reports,
plans and specifications for major projects. Design and produce
engineering drawings based on calculations. Check, interpret and revise
engineering drawings.Conceive, plan and conduct research in complex
problem areas.Prepare and review preliminary and final plans and
technical specifications, contract documents and estimates, and make
recommendations for additions, deletions and substitutions when
modifications are necessary.Participate in contract bidding and
construction administration services.Supervise and guide the design and
ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project
with City, State and County officials and other outside
agencies.Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside
consultants and firm staff.Communicate and interact with project team
members, client representatives, review agencies and others as
appropriate to project. Resolve a variety of complex problems (e.g.,
conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional
materials, difficult coordination requirements).Develop labor plans and
fee proposals for prospective projects.Minimum
Qualifications:Bachelor\'s or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering with
a focus in Structural Engineering.Minimum of 12 years of job-related
experience required.Experienced in design with structural steel,
reinforced concrete, masonry, high wind and seismic design.Experience
with design of Industrial manufacturing facilities a plus.Experience
using various structural design software tools; e.g., RISA, RAM, Navis
Manage, Tedds, RetainPro, Adapt-Building.Must have P.E. licensure. S.E.
license is preferred.Ability to travel to local job sites.Gresham Smith
