Job Description

Solar Impact Inc. is searching for an experienced Solar Installer/Electrician to join our growing operations department. The person in this role is responsible for efficiently installing solar and electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses the following traits:

  • At least 3-5 years of solar and electrical experience or participation in the Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • Hands-on expertise with NEC
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team

  • Working knowledge of digital devices and programs

  • Must be proficient in bending conduit
  • Work with a team assembling all components related to a solar installation, including job prep, roof layout, racking and attachment, and system monitoring
  • Interact with customers and team members in a professional manner
  • Maintain a safe work environment, and follow Solar Impact and OSHA safety protocols at all times
  • Organize tools and parts on installation vehicle
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
  • Participate in the Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • Participate in online and in-person training related to safety and solar installation
  • Communicate with team members to ensure projects are moving along safely, quickly, and efficiently
  • Review installed projects to determine areas for efficiency improvement
  • Meet Solar Impact attendance and punctuality requirements
  • Work overtime, nights, and weekends as required to meet project needs
  • Be willing and able to travel out of town as needed

  • 3 to 5 years of prior electrical experience and/or participation in the Electrical Apprentice program
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work at great heights
  • Capable of prolonged periods kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders
  • Able to work on feet for 10-hour periods
  • Able to lift at least 75 pounds at a time
  • Able to wear PPE in the performance of some duties (e.g., harnesses, hard hats, gloves, masks, ear protection, etc.)
  • Able to work in extreme hot/cold temperature conditions
  • Available to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Valid driver's license and insurability required (21 years of age)
  • Able to attend classes at night
  • Must perform work in a safe manner resulting in no accidents
