Supplier Quality Engineer - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, OH
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues, non-conformities, and initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Disposition deviations and non-conformities that occur.
- Track and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions resulting from deviations and audits, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
- Develop and implement integrated quality engineering (IQE) control plans, inspection point plans, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
- Analyze quality data and identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality problems and prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in the development and review of engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality inspection and auditing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide guidance and support on quality control processes and compliance requirements.
- Train, guide, and support receiving inspection and other team members on dimensional inspection techniques, equipment operation, and quality requirements.
- Review and approve CMM reports & gauging methods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Preferred Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Entry level to senior candidates will be considered, salary commensurate with experience.
- Understanding of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with gaging and other inspection methods, including non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining – milling, turning, grinding and welding.
- Prior experience using SAP is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
- Great attitude and proactive approach to identifying and solving complex problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
