Job Summary:
The Union Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring accurate timekeeping, attendance tracking, and payroll processing for unionized employees. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and union policies.
Responsibilities:
Utilize a timekeeping system to accurately record and track employees' working hours, including regular hours, overtime, doubletime, and any other relevant leave.
Monitor and validate time and attendance records, ensuring compliance with union rules and regulations, contractual provisions, and legal requirements.
Resolve discrepancies or issues related to timecards, attendance, and scheduling conflicts, collaborating with relevant stakeholders, such as supervisors, HR, and union representatives.
Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, shift differentials, and other applicable payments based on the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement and union policies.
Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including reviewing and approving union employees' timesheets for payment.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and union policies, ensuring compliance with all applicable provisions and regulations.
Provide guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and employees on matters related to timekeeping, attendance policies, and union-specific rules.
Stay updated on changes in labor laws, regulations, and industry standards, and implement necessary adjustments to timekeeping and attendance practices to ensure compliance.
Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on employee attendance, overtime hours, and other relevant metrics as required by the union, management, or regulatory bodies.
Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave balances, and any other relevant documentation related to timekeeping and attendance.
Prepare documentation and reports for union audits or grievances, ensuring accurate and detailed records are maintained to support the organization during such processes.
Prepare and monitor PO balance reports
Liaise with supervisors, HR personnel, and union representatives to address any timekeeping-related issues, concerns, or disputes.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement effective timekeeping and attendance policies and procedures that align with union requirements and organizational goals.
Communicate and educate employees on timekeeping policies, procedures, and any changes or updates that may impact their pay or benefits.
Occassional vists to client sites for meetings or to pick up/deliver paychecks, paperwork, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Prior experience as a Union Timekeeper or similar role
Strong knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and union regulations.
Proficiency in using timekeeping systems (Ideally Track) or software applications for accurate data entry and reporting.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications or training in timekeeping, payroll, or HR are advantageous.
