POSITION TITLE: Wind Power Technology Coordinator
BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY LEVEL: MEA Administrator (Pending Classification)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Northern Maine Community College is seeking to hire a coordinator for the Wind Power Technology program. This position is a year-round position. Job responsibilities include working with wind energy industry representatives within the New England region; working with Wind Power Technology faculty to coordinate GWO training opportunities within the State of Maine; coordinate and provide training sessions for credit or continuing education for current employees in wind energy industry. The coordinator will be responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance and inventory of equipment obtained through grant funding. Regular travel outside of Aroostook County, evening and weekend classes may be required. This is a grant funded position through August 2025.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in Wind Power Technology or related field with 3-5 years’ experience in wind energy. Candidate must complete Global Wind Organization Basic Safety Training. Candidates not currently holding a State of Maine Masters’ Electrician’s license will be encouraged to obtain license. Bachelor’s degree in an energy-related discipline is preferred.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 3-5 years’ experience in wind energy; basic project management skills and report writing ability; excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal; basic knowledge of and experience with wind power equipment maintenance; ability to understand budget functions; creative skills to design and develop new training programs to meet specific needs of the wind power industry involving assessment, research of existing training, customization of training and development of new curriculum.
