The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered by the National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC).

Underground Injection Control (UIC) Permit / Rule Writer and HydroGeologist

This position prepares injection well authorizations by drafting permits and authorizations by rule and provide hydro-geological support by evaluating injection flow path for aquifer storage and recover (ASR) systems, and other associated technical assignments.


  • Review Class V (including ASR) applications and draft permits.   30%
  • Review data for ASR authorizations by rule/permit (e.g., Pilot Cycle Test Results); prepare recommendations.   35%
  • Provide other Class V-related technical and regulatory assistance as needed/assigned.   15%
  • Input data/maintain data quality for Regional UIC database and track Class V/ASR projects and their contacts.   15%
  • Provide training and technical assistance to Class V/ASR operators.   5%


BA/BS Degree in knowledge of hydrogeology and modeling or general B.S. OR Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in hydrogeology and/or environmental science.

Pay rate: $12.72 per hour This is the maximum amount budgeted through the grants to support this program.
