The Energy & Power Technologies Division focuses on the industries that generate, transmit and distribute energy from traditional power sources to today's most innovative solutions concentrating on 5 key product segments: n n + Power Distribution & Industrial Automation n + Wind n + Solar n + Energy Systems & E-Mobility n + Oil & Gas n We also support the rapid evolution and innovation of the energy industry, including solar power plants, wind turbines, battery & energy storage technology, e-mobility and oil & gas/hazardous locations. UL works with energy product manufacturers as well as developers and renewable energy project owners/operators to help ensure the safety, performance, and certification of their products and operations. n Responsibilities n n n + Acts as an advisor to senior leadership and is responsible for providing all aspects of financial support of the global EPT business. n + Manages monthly operational and financial reporting, all analytics and reporting to support profitable growth. n + Has direct management and oversight of the FP&A process n + Manages the development of the annual budget and financial projections as directed n + Conducts the required analysis to rationalize recommended decisions. Requires interacting with global and regional counterparts to accomplish the business objectives of the business. n + Provides financial support for all related operational and commercial activities. This includes supporting the pricing and rebate analysis, key account management financial support, new initiative analyses and other related activities. n + Extracts statistical and informative data from the Financial Systems utilized by EPT BU for review and analysis, and the development and maintenance of management reporting. n + Evaluates the financial impact of business opportunities as needed, which may include projected return on investment / payback periods for proposed capital expenditures or other investments. Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed. n + Recommends operational changes based on financial analyses. n + Supports M&A analyses of potential growth opportunities and assist with the integration of acquisitions as needed. n + Supports EPT BU Finance activities on project and cross-functional basis. n + Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are communicated appropriately, understood and adhered to. n + As a member of the EPT Global Finance Staff, maintains and builds trust and collaborative relationships with peers and EPT Management team. n + Performs other duties as directed. n Qualifications n n n + University degree (equivalent to a US Bachelor's degree) in Finance, Accounting or related field is required. n + 8+ years of directly related or relevant experience in an Operations environment is required. n + MBA or Master's degree in business, finance or economics is highly preferred. n + Business and profit minded with related t chnical knowhow; competitive and profit-driven; may help to re-invent competitive advantage. n + Demonstrated ability to Interpret financial risks and gains when analyzing financial data and to analyze financial data and calculate the financial impact of opportunities as they arise or as potential opportunities n + Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups in order to achieve desired outcomes without damaging relationships is preferred. n + Ability to critically think, listen reflectively and consider many points of view on a topic, and also use common sense in decision-making. n + Ability to work successfully in a highly matrixed work environment. n + Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including ability to recognize best mode(s) for communicating based on the audience and the situation), negotiation and interpersonal skills; distinctive ability to interact with all levels of management, clients and suppliers; good proficiency in English (if in a region outside of the U.S.). n + Analytical, decision making and persuasion skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. n + Effectively determines appropriate amount of information needed to make rational judgments and acts with confidence and a sense of urgency. n + Sets high standards and achieves superior results aligned
