Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.THE ROLEHave you wanted an opportunity to develop the embedded software for an advanced satellite constellation? The satellite operations software lead is responsible for space-borne executive applications specific to managing spacecraft flight, state of charge, thermal balance and propulsion control.Activities include:Design, Author, Test and Maintain critical application elements of the flight software including:* Controlling the power systems to harvest solar energy, charge batteries and supply the vehicle bus* Manage the spacecraft thermal environment with state decisions and direct heater and load shedding actions* Provide an interface to ground operations, collecting and buffering and downloading back-orbit telemetry* Run the command handler executive application which manages overall spacecraft state to execute the missionJOB RESPONSIBILITIES* Define and implement core software solution for satellite software applications* Provide close support and communication with teams across all software and hardware sub-systems* Work closely with implementation teams to evaluate and simulate expected system level performanceExport Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Basic Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline, or equivalent experience* Design and development experience in system and software engineering* Experience with systems and software tools (C/C++, Matlab, JAMA)* Familiarity with the AGILE (JIRA/ALM) development process* Experience in debugging, performance optimization and unit testingAmazon is an Equal Opportunity Employer .and.ndash; Minority / Women / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation / Age
