We have the unique andsignificant role to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center \(JSC\), to be partof every human spaceflight program – the International Space Station \(ISS\),NASA’s Orion spacecraft, which will carry astronauts into deep space, andGateway, the orbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work andtravel back and forth to the moon’s surface, and serving as the platform fordeep space exploration\.From criticalsystems on the ISS to enable astronauts to live and work in space; toperforming advanced development for systems leading to deep space exploration;to being part of the foundation for Gateway\. We also partner with NASA atJSC, the only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterialsamples returned from exploration missions, to perform curation services,orbital debris analysis, and basic research to further humankind’sunderstanding of the origins of our solar system\. We need you to be a part of ourteam\! We are currently in need ofa **Systems Engineer \- Power and Battery Systems** to join our teamwith MTS, a JETS teammate company\. Do you have the followingskills? As a **Systems Engineer \-Power and Battery Systems** you will: + Support engineering flight project schedule,procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents\. + Be responsible for the planning, development,review, and maintaining program requirements including Project TechnicalRequirements Specification \(PTRS\), Interface Control Documents \(ICDs\),Verification and Validation Document \(V&VD\), and Verification SuccessCriteria\. + \(VSC\)\. + Develop and support sub\-project requirementand verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation,operations, and sustaining engineering\. + Conduct product life cycle reviews,coordinate integration, verification and validation activities\. + Monitor submitted documents and attend designreviews\. + Work with requirements to align with hardwarespecifications while understanding the verifications\. + Perform system engineering functions ofprojects and provide user input feedback during the design process\. + Perform ground testing and flight operationstesting of hardware with end item documentation\. + Review verification and validation reports toverify compliance with requirements \. + Participate and contribute to systemrequirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews\. + Work and present schedule and progress tocustomers\. + Must have good communication andorganizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment\. + Perform other duties as required\. **Qualifications** **Required Education/Experience/Skills:** _This position has been posted at multiple levels\. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised\._ + BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five \(5\) years of related engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four \(4\) years of related engineering experience, or Ph\.D\. from an accredited engineering school and zero \(0\) years of related experience\. + At least 5 years of relevant experience in engineering or systems engineering\. + Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies including model based systems engineeringKnowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements\. + Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision\. + Experience working in a team environment\. + Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings\. **Preferences:** + Knowledge of power and battery systems design, test and operation\. + Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight\. + Experience with NASA processes **Why Work on Our Team?** Click on the below links to view just a small sample of all that we do\!
