Territory Manager, Residential Solar GAF is committed to long term leadership of the rooftop photovoltaic industry. The industry is at a point of inflection where it can evolve into a significant portion of the overall roofing market and GAF is going to be devoting significant resources to the solar industry as the market evolves. GAF is launching the first of a series of residential solar roof products and the scope of the role is greatly expanded. The Territory Manager, Residential Solar will be a key member in furthering this deployment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES + Launch and sales of proprietary GAF residential rooftop solar products to existing roofing channels + Work with wide group of residential roofing contractors to introduce new GAF solar products + Assure roofing contractors receive appropriate training, sales tools, etc. to successfully sell and install new GAF solar products + Work with distribution channels to assure that the GAF solar products are sold and promoted in an appropriate fashion. Help set up new distribution partners as needed to support the growth of the product + Assure that GAF solar products meet their annual sales goals + Represent voice of the customer and market for new product development in solar channel + Launch and sales of proprietary GAF residential roofing products to new channels + Show residential solar products at trade shows and other events outside of traditional roofing contractors + Establish network of non-roofing installers who are utilizing GAF products and assure that they have the tools and training they need to begin and expand their purchases of GAF solar products + Work with third party finance companies to assure that GAF products meet financing criteria and can be sold through their networks + Work with new housing construction channel, either directly or through third parties, to build user base of new customers for proprietary GAF products + Develop field deployment of residential solar initiatives, including: + Work with field sales to implement multiple go to market programs that support various stages of contractor readiness. This includes lead generation programs with roofing contractors and large solar players + Monitor field sales results and provide guidance to field sales on opportunities + Work with third party solar service providers to assure that adequate support is in place for all programs for Solar Elite contractors + Assurance that complex jobs are properly installed, including all necessary reporting, prior to disbursement of GAF funds + Work with GAF finance, logistics and roofing sales teams to assure that projects ship and bill on time + Establish training programs, working with GAF’s CARE training group, that allow roofing contractors to enter the complex solar energy market + Sustain and extend relationships with solar market service providers, assuring that GAF and their partners have access to the latest tools and services in the evolving solar space + Expanding industry contacts and continue to establish GAF as a significant player in residential solar + Other projects as required Technical knowledge/skills + Exposure to the market facing areas of sales, marketing and logistics + Basic understanding of policy impacts on the solar industry + Able to create and present updated go to market plans to all functions in the business General knowledge/skills + Experience and orientation in working cross functionally and collaboratively + Need a strong and consistent communicator, upwards and downwards + Advanced listening skills + High energy/high sense of urgency/fast-paced and can think on his/her feet + Intermediate proficiency in the MS Office suite Education/Experience + Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred + 5 to 7 years of experience in sales with a focus on the solar industry + Ideal candidates will have demonstrated and proven sales experience with a background in the building material industry, roofing is preferred + Multi-channel experience selling to include distributor, contractor, lumber dealer, two step, architect, property homeowner, retail & Co-Ops is highly preferred Travel Requirements: Minimum 50% We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including 401K medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, tuition reimbursement, and a vacation package.
