Job Description

The Solar Farm Superintendent is the responsible party for overseeing,coordinating, and successfully completing the construction of solar farm.The Superintendent reports to a Construction Manager (Field-based) and aProject Manager (Office-based), and coordinates closely with staff forpurchasing, deliveries, engineering design, safety, tool control,civil construction, environmental compliance, labor management &reporting, andEducation & Certifications: Minimum 4 year bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Managementor related field, or equivalent work experience. Electrical license preferred OSHA 30 Training preferred NABCEP PV Installer Certification preferred.Experience & Skills: 3 years of construction supervision experience. 5 years electrical experience in industrial/utility settings Previous large ground mount solar experience highly desired. Demonstrated experience implementing quality control/quality assuranceprocesses Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and Knowledge of OSHA safety standards. Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule andunder budget.Other Qualifications: Strong problem solving skills. Self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong leadership skills. Proven ability to manage and motivate employees. Proven communication and reporting capabilities Can provide clear direction for foremen and crew leaders Organized and able to meet timelines Gives attention to detail and quality workmanship. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement of job methods andprocesses. Can develop and train new leaders for construction. Has a valid driver's license, clean driving record and can pass a drug test.Working Conditions: Work is outdoors, and may include work on commercial rooftops The majority of work is remote from the central office, requiringextended overnight stays. Most projects are located in North Carolina, but as the company growsjobs will be located in other states as well.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Adhere to OSHA safety regulations. Ensure that all workers on a job sitecomply with all safety guidelines and regulations. In coordination withConstruction Manager and Foremen, set the sequence and assignment of work tominimize exposure to job site safety risks (e.g. open trenches, hotelectrical equipment). Participate in pre-construction planning of projects including plan reviewand comments, staffing projections, project task sequencing. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with Foremen,Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project designers and support staff. Manage the build based on budget and project schedule. Work with Project Manager and Construction manager to develop accurateconstruction schedule forecasts: maintain 1-week look-ahead schedule andattend weekly project meetings. Responsible party for daily implementation of installation schedule. Provide daily and weekly reports of construction progress Ensure compliance with all job site regulations (e.g. safety,environmental, labor) insure that standard operating procedures (SOP's) are implemented ina consistent manner, and that QA/QC procedures are followed bysubcontractors and directly managed crews.. Coordinate with Construction manager for subcontractors and equipmentrental as needed for each job. Manage the project work force, implementing all company policies, andstaffing so as to meeting project timeline and budget. Translate and interpret construction schematics to actual installation. Ensure NEC Code compliance of the installation. Provide guidance and technical support to the personal, temp labor andsubs on issues concerning construction components/ applications. Able to analyze project scenarios and implement site-specific designmodifications Perform other duties as assigned.
