Job Description

M&F Talent has a greenhouse design / build client that is looking for a reliable Construction Manager to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the greenhouse projects, which will also include site visits.


  • Overseeing and directing Greenhouse design and construction projects from conception to completion, working directly with the end-user on their project specifications
  • Review projects in-depth to estimate costs, engage in a competitive bidding/ proposal process, and schedule deliverables, and then oversee the work of general contractors and trades
  • Overseeing all off-site construction projects to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations, adherence to budget, timelines, and overall efficiency
  • Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations including electrical, mechanical, and equipment installations (HVAC, chillers, boilers, lighting, etc)
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
  • Review the work progress on daily basis, and ensure works meets contractual conditions of project performance
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques


  • BS Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction site management
  • Proven working experience in construction management, preferably in a role related to greenhouse construction, controlled environment agriculture, and/or indoor cultivation
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of steel building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process, including relevant software packages
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
