Leveraging its proven experience and expertise in the industry, they have built a business model that combines ownership of a diversified portfolio of clean power generation assets in its key markets, seeking long term operational and financial optimization, with an increased focus in customer needs arising as a result of the power sector transformation.

Job Summary: 

Provide input, support and leadership in executing the Business Development and Energy Markets mandate: analysing and monitoring Australian energy market data, implementing trading and risk capabilities, executing cross-disciplinary projects, appraising new growth opportunities, and improving overall business performance through energy markets strategies.

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Appraising commercial opportunities & information gathering
  2. Project management
  3. Business case and tender preparation
  4. Research, data analysis and data management
  5. Commercial and financial modelling

Education and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years of work experience in energy related commercial analysis and a proven track record of managing projects with inputs from a multi-disciplinary team
  • Formal qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business management, science or engineering preferred
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Excellent research, written and oral communications skills: the ability to locate, distill and analyse energy industry data, develop clear and concise plans, and create presentations conveying energy market insights
  • Capacity to operate at a detailed level, to organize and multi-task, with a dedication to seeing projects through to completion
  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and clearly communicate project status, timeline, risk assessment, budget needs and performance
  • Experience in responding to client requests and tender processes, distilling the insights from your colleagues to create high quality commercial proposals that empathise with the consumer’s needs
  • Familiarity with the process of electricity market modelling and forming a renewable energy market view
  • Experience or familiarity with the contract and regulatory structures relating to trading renewable energy
  • Understanding of business dynamics, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and strategic thinking – focusing on improving value for consumers
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver on strict deadlines
  • Experience understanding complex customer problems and designing innovative solutions for them
