The intern will support the Country Representative in drafting the Country Planning Framework. This will offer the intern an exceptional opportunity to learn about Cambodia, about green growth and climate finance, and unique exposure to strategy development for an international organization.
GGGI’s Cambodia program offers policy and investment advice to a number of national and municipal counterparts with the objective of promoting inclusive and sustainable urban economic growth. The portfolio of projects covers waste management, sanitation, clean energy and green mobility. GGGI Cambodia is housed in the National Council for Sustainable Development and has additional offices in the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and in Phnom Penh Capital Hall. GGGI works with a network of 8 cities across the country.
This year, GGGI Cambodia will draft its “Country Planning Framework” 2021-2025. GGGI’s Country Planning Framework (CPF) is a 5-year in-country delivery strategy that identifies s GGGI’s contribution to green growth and sustainable development in partner countries. The CPF process entails an assessment of green growth challenges, opportunities and enabling conditions, identification of GGGI’s in-country comparative advantage, and the elaboration of priority interventions with results nested in GGGI’s Corporate Results Framework. The CPF is formulated through a series of analytical exercises and stakeholder feedback sessions, incorporating input from internal GGGI staff, national stakeholders and development partners.
The intern will support the Country Representative with research and analysis to inform the CPF development. The intern will support preparation and coordination of consultation events. The intern will work closely with the Country Representative on drafting certain chapters of the CPF, and on visualizing certain ideas through graphs and power points presentations.
The intern will liaise extensively with GGGI in-country team, government counterparts and headquarter colleagues involved in the CPF process, together with the Country Representative
In continuous consultation with the relevant colleagues, the intern will assist the Country Representative in the development, formulation and visualization of:
- A Country Overview
- Stakeholder and Donor Map
- Options Assessment of green growth interventions that could potentially be the focus of the CPF
- Results formulation and impact pathway
The intern will make use of the various available GGGI tools and templates for this purpose.

GGGI interns receive a stipend of USD$500 per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
