Job Description

M&F Talent has a client in CO2 extraction solutions that is looking to hire a new Design Supervisor. Technical scope of the position will encompass all areas of engineering and design including mechanical, structural, pressure vessel, and process system design.

 Our client is an international leader in commercial extraction solutions who have designed cutting-edge extraction technology for the modern cannabis industry. All candidates must have: experience in pressure vessel design according to ASME section VIII, experience in NB, CRN and other regulatory registrations, ASME B31, CSA B51.

 Location: British Columbia, Canada

 Responsibilities:

  • Schedule design resources and review/approve design work
  • Execute design projects for prototyping or production
  • Ensure drawings, designs, and BOM’s are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards
  • Contribute to and assist in the management of production CAD database(s)
  • Facilitate and execute engineering change orders (ECO)
  • Maintain engineering master data completeness and accuracy (item data, BOM, routings)          
  • Assist in managing and developing design standards and libraries
  • Optimize component, product designs for performance, cost, standardization, and manufacturability
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate expenses that do not add value to the process or product, and within the scope of authority of the position, implement the reduction
  • Work “hands-on” with manufacturing to resolve any problems encountered in the fabrication and construction of experimental or production machines
  • Assist other departments in preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects
  • Correspond with suppliers and customers when required to support supply chain and sales processes
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant design and construction codes

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technologist Diploma
  • 5 or more years of experience with pressure vessel design, mechanical systems, machine design, hydraulic systems, or other related fields
  • Previous working experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
  • Experience in pressure vessel design according to ASME section VIII 
  • ASME B31
  • CSA B51
  • Experience in NB, CRN and other regulatory registrations
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Basic knowledge of domestic and international standards and regulations an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to support and assist in the growth and development of the company and engineering/design department as a lean organization
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving and growing environment where responsibilities and position scope may change
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must have Canadian citizenship or work visa for Canada
