Job Description

M&F Talent has a client in commercial greenhouse design that is looking to onboard an Inside Sales & Project Manager. Our client, based in the SF Bay area, is well-established in the controlled environment agriculture industry. Within these markets, they have several offerings related to structural design, energy technologies, water technologies, as well as building and instillation.

Our client has a wide-ranging customer base in commercial crop production, including world-leaders in food and cannabis cultivation. This job is a synthesis of inside sales, customer support, and project management for highly technical products and offerings. As such, our client needs someone who is comfortable “wearing a number of hats on the job” with tasks within operations, sales, budgeting, and technical support.

Location: Richmond, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all inbound sales leads
  • Provide initial screening for all general inquiries related to sales, customer support, etc.
  • Direct initial consultation with prospective clients, including relative data collection
  • Put customers in contact with appropriate team members when necessary
  • Follow-up with team members on project progress, etc.
  • Manage the sales process for all sales
  • Distribute sales leads to appropriate team members
  • Maintain budgets for projects
  • Participate in design calls
  • manage and delegate project tasks within specific departments
  • Create proposals and estimates for clients
  • Develop project timelines for active and prospective clients
  • Follow up with sales leads
  • Offer technical support for key legacy customers
  • Provide technical support for minor system issues
  • For complicated technical support issues, oversee info collection and immediate response/plan of action until specialist/vendor is available
  • Draft key supply PO’s
  • Provide oversite on all supply PO’s
  • Get systems quotes from manufacturers
  • Communicate technical details of project in conjunction with process engineer
  • Participate in equipment selection for projects based on needs
  • Provide oversight on general business logistics
  • Oversee planning and support for trade show events

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree in horticulture, business, and / or communications preferred
  • 3 years of experience “customer facing” role required
  • 5 years of experience working with equipment in a CEA facility (cannabis and / or crop production) required
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Technical customer support preferred
  • Basic understanding of commercial greenhouse systems / indoor gardens
  • Basic understand of essential CEA systems: dehumidifiers, irrigation, smart grow tech, boilers, fans, HVAC, lighting, etc.
  • Familiarity with the current cannabis and controlled environment agriculture industries
