Job Description

M&F Talent has a client in smart grow technology that is looking to expand their U.S. team with a qualified and attentive Field Engineer. Our client is internationally established in the automated growing solutions field and has a serious footprint in both the CEA and cannabis industries. This is a newly created role, which our clients are anticipating will be vital to their continued success. Ideal work history is within a technical field-based role such as telecommunications, industrial automation, or electrical installation. This job is a synthesis of technical work and customer service. 

The Field Engineer will support our client’s customers and partners to ensure they have a world-class experience. To this end, they will “go the extra mile” in ensuring that the customer experience is first-rate.

Location: U.S. East Coast (Remote Work Position)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform instillation of greenhouse control systems at customer sites through the United States.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment failures in the field.
  • Create electrical and site drawings for instillations.
  • Study client’s technology in depth in order to provide tech support.
  • Instill confidence in customer base with knowledge and communication.
  • Work independently on customer jobsites in CEA / horticulture / cannabis operations.
  • Be responsible for onboarding and assisting training partners.
  • Reports directly to the Sales & Customer Service Director.
  • Provide remote support for partner technicians when required.
  • Contribute to product enhancement by identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide technical training sessions for partners, customers, and fellow staff members.
  • Work with the R&D and Sales Teams to enhance the installer process.
  • Follow processes and systems in place to support safe workplaces.
  • Communicate effectively with customers on potential workplace hazards.
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • AA or BA Degree in Electrical or Electronics or Qualified Electrical Tradesman.
  • 3 yrs. Experience working in a technical field-based role (telecommunications, industrial automation, or electrical installation)
  • 2 yrs. Customer Service experience.
  • Ability to design electrical systems through schematics drafting.
  • Knowledge of horticulture, CEA, and cannabis industries (preferred).
  • Experience with pumps and / or plumbing (preferred).
  • Comfortable using computer technology.
  • Can readily create, analyze, and interpret technical information.
