Mortenson has been voted a "best place to work" 38 times regionally over the past decade......What are you waiting for?!Summary:Mortenson is currently seeking a passionate Safety Professional with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at the field level in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with professionalism and confidentiality. This Safety Team Member will provide direction and support within Mortenson's I Own Zero Injury Safety program for the project.ResponsibilitiesOrganization, flexibility, outstanding customer focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:Provide safety insight and direction in the implementation of the I Own Zero Injury Safety programLead project management teams in developing site specific safety program and activitiesIdentify training needs and conduct safety orientation and training programs, including train-the trainer sessionsProvide professional direction and mentorship to the teamConduct work area safety auditsConduct or assist with incident analysisReview project work plans with the safety teamProvide resource of safety related informationEvaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concernsOperational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards, regulations, laws, and proceduresServe as resource for safety issues or concerns for all project team members/operating group managementOther duties as assigned, which may include;Support Safety Leadership Team in achieving and maintaining operating group safety performance metricsInterface with client safety personnel, union representatives, industry groups, etc.Accompany safety, health, insurance and OSHA personnel on work-site toursEnsure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and protective wearQualificationsRequired Skills:Detail orientationProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies to team members and outside partiesStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsEffective public speaking and presentation skillsCurrent driver's licenseA high school diploma/GED or equivalentMortenson is an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
