JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE
Under the direction of the Shipping-Packing Supervisor, the Packer-Shipper II will package and prepare domestic and international regulated and non-regulated customer orders according to established procedures and applicable regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to Packer-Shipper I duties:
Monitor orders for on time shipment
Ensure proper staffing in all areas/positions to provide continuous work flow
Communication with Sales department on a daily basis as needed
Assist in delegating work assigned by Shipping -Packing Supervisor to appropriate personnel
Instruct and assist such employees, when necessary, in the proper packaging and shipping procedures, i.e Cross-Training.
Report and discuss any issues with employees, equipment or processes with the Shipping-Packing Supervisor.
Manage stock of supplies, ensuring the department has everything needed.
Backup support to Packer-Shipper Lead and Shipping Coordinator-International as needed.
Packer- Shipper I duties:
Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines.
Must be able to work flexible schedule and hours dependent upon business needs/as necessary.
Ability to work in a "clean-room" environment.
Participate in regularly scheduled physical inventories.
Ensure material collected corresponds with picking list, weigh material, check item number, lot number, quantity, and special packaging.
Determine appropriate packaging according to carrier specifications and regulations.
Calculate value of shipment for insurance purposes and verify customer specifications have been met.
Flexibility and willingness to assist other areas as needed. Strong cross-functional adaptability required.
Prepare shipment following established procedures.
Process all shipping transactions in current business system.
Work with Continuous Improvement Leader to develop process improvements using Lean/Value Stream management methodology.
Determine appropriate documentation and enter information into UPS/FED EX Software or any other required software programs.
Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all safety, quality, procedures and policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and/or GED. Minimum of 2 yrs related packaging-shipping experience required.
