JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE The Master Planner oversees the accurate creation and maintenance of master production schedules at the Milwaukee facility. Plans, coordinates, controls and directs activities involving the detailed scheduling and release of production orders. Continuously improves processes, especially within SAP. Coordinates inventory management. Ensures close communication on manpower, laboratory, equipment requirements and shop order priorities with manufacturing and outside vendors to meet customer commitments. Tracks and communicates order status, lead time and capacity guidelines. Makes sure the facility is properly staffed to support manufacturing and to meet customer requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage production control functions: planning, prioritizing, coordinating and scheduling operations - incorporating forecast, capacity, customer requirements, product mix, material and labor requirements - and revising as necessary * Coordinate inventory management efforts, working cross-functionally to optimize inventory levels to support both on-time delivery and working capital goals * Maintain and manage shop orders from creation to completion * Assist in defining, implementing, maintaining and developing continuous improvement initiatives to support internal and external needs * Lead efforts to standardize processes in SAP * Publish monthly and weekly reports of key metrics * Monitor actual outputs versus the production plan on a weekly and monthly basis. * Communicate with internal and external customers regarding order status * Update work center calendars, loading parameters, queue time values. Perform queue time reviews and review and finalize proposed queue time changes with manufacturing * Attend and participate in required daily and weekly meetings * Contribute to a culture of safety and comply with all company safety policies and procedures * Perform other duties as required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * B.S.
